Jammu-Kashmir Election: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh said on Wednesday (December 14) that the overall security situation in the union territory is peaceful and the next assembly elections will be held in a peaceful atmosphere.
DGP Dilbag Singh said that incidents of hartals and stone pelting have now become a thing of the past. However, he said that efforts are on from Pakistan side to push terrorists into India and revive terrorism in peaceful areas, but the police and other security agencies are alert to the threat and are thwarting their designs.
‘Election will be held in a peaceful environment’
Dilbag Singh said this while talking to reporters after inaugurating two newly constructed buildings to be used as police station and residential quarters for policemen at Loran in border Poonch district. When asked about the possibility of holding assembly elections next year, he said, “All the elections in the last five years were conducted peacefully and hence the coming elections will also be held in a peaceful atmosphere.”

DGP Dilbag Singh said, “The situation is very good. We hope that it will improve further with time. People are not facing any difficulty. There is no strictness from the police or any other security forces and we are also ensuring that there is no disruption in the daily activities of the people.”
